About Endometriosis Care Centre Uganda

Endometriosis care centre Uganda (ECCU) is a Ugandan based Non-government Organization focused on women and girls living with endometriosis. The organization was established in 2021 to address endometriosis related issues among women and girls of reproductive age  that have for long been adversely deterring their advancement, transformation and full .participation in society. The organization aims to tackle the complex and multifactorial challenges of endometriosis through harnessing the strengths of multidisciplinary collaborations. . ECCU is mandated to operate in all the regions of Uganda. Our main offices are however located in Kampala city, for easy coordination of activities. Collaborative alliances have been established with other organizations and institutions with similar goals and objectives.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide quality and timely Rehabilitation, and psycho-social services to women and girls living with Endometriosis.

Our Vision

Our Vision is “a world without Endometriosis and its complications”.

Objectives

  • To advocate for the right to health for women and girls with endometriosis through promoting improved treatment options for girls and women suffering from endometriosis. 
  • To liaise with the relevant Government agencies/institutions, Inter-Government agencies, regional agencies and/or International agencies to influence policy, care and management of endometriosis in health facilities.
  • To provide a platform for personal experience sharing for women and girls with endometriosis, create awareness amongst the general public and health professionals about endometriosis. 
  • To empower girls and women with endometriosis through socio-economic projects and improve support to enable them cope with the social and economic challenges they face.
  • To provide timely diagnosis, quality treatment, surgery, nursing care and other related medical services and support to women and girls with Endometriosis. 
  • To undertake research and documentation on endometriosis and other related diseases, share and document best practices in the delivery of services and care for women and girls suffering from endometriosis.
  • To demystify motivational principles among women and girls living with endometriosis, with a view of clearing any doubts and false beliefs and attitudes towards self-actualization. 
  • To cause public awareness and lobby government to include women and girls living with endometriosis in national development policies and initiatives. 
  • To build the institutional and organizational capacity of  ENDOMETRIOSIS CARE CENTRE UGANDA to deliver on her mandate by developing internal capacity of ENDOMETRIOSIS CARE CENTRE UGANDA leadership and management to effectively play their roles and developing mechanisms for sustaining ENDOMETRIOSIS CARE CENTRE UGANDA’S campaigns about endometriosis and related diseases, causes, control and management 
  • To do all such other things and carry out all other activities whether by diversification or delimitation which shall be in the interest of the organization or may be deemed incidental or conducive to the attainment of any objects and the exercise of and powers of the organization.
